Tourism, Yacht Charter and Training

The French coast is one of the richest and most diversified in Europe. From the English Channel to the French Riviera, to the Caribbean and Polynesia, every range of climate and landscape, as well as every programme is within range of the bow portée d’étrave. And beyond the French coasts, the whole world awaits you along the show aisles. Nautic makes it possible to get an almost complete overview of these horizons in a just few hours.

In 2012, Brittany made news with the French leg of the Volvo Ocean Race at Lorient from 17th June to 1st July, then Les Tonnerres de Brest from 13th – 19th July. Through these popular exceptional events— more than 3,000 boats are expected in Brest and the elite of the international crews will call at Lorient —Brittany wants to promote its enormous heritage and its maritime dynamism at Nautic.

First of all by presenting its offering of water-based recreatrional activities, from sailing aboard a dozen or so traditional sailboats used in Brittany today to sand yachts or countless training centres spread out over the coastline. Secondly, by bringing together over a dedicated area, more than twenty shipyards, each one more innovative and creative than the next: the Boats of the Year are often Breton… And finally, the region will be promoting its excellent maritime industries, as the home of high technology and French racing. Its offshore racing sector, supported by the Regional Council and Crédit Mutuel, goes from the detection of Espoirs to the Elite sector on crewed M34.

Another very dynamic point of interest and one which makes Nautic a unique show, the yacht charter offering here is undoutedly unmatched. Here again, in just a few hours, it is possible to go through and negociate all of the destinations round the world. Every year, new destinations are proposed by the group Tui Marine (Sunsail, Moorings and LeBoat), by the pioneer of new horizons Dream Yacht Charter and by a multitude of local or specialised charter-hire firms. Sailing in flottillas for beginners, luxurious cruises to the ends of the earth, or on a cabin rental basis, all the opportunities are here in one place at the heart of Pavillon 1. At a price that you only find once a year, during Nautic!

Lastly, the training offers continue to grow. It is possible today to take intense courses in mechanics, navigation, weather, and first aid making it possible for the novice to take control of his boat in just a few weeks. The MACIF sailing centres, early partners of Nautic, for example offer a panoply of training and further training courses, for all levels and all ages.
